About Industrial Power Technologies, Inc.
Serving OEM manufacturers in water treatment and minerals processing since 2002.
Our Story
Industrial Power Technologies got its start in 2002 with deep ties to OEM manufacturers in the water treatment and minerals processing industries. Our reputation for responsive service and accurate drive design earned us steady, loyal business -- customers kept coming back because the complete drive packages we built actually worked together in harmony, from the motor to the gear reducer to the final positioning component.
That same commitment to keeping operations running shows up when something breaks. When a customer's equipment goes down at a job site or plant, we move quickly to help them get back up and running -- it's one of the reasons customers stay with us.
What We Do
We procure equipment, engineer drop-in solutions for obsolete drives, and consult on the design and specification of complete power transmission systems -- across three core divisions: Supply & Procurement, Drop-In Solution Design, and Consulting & Engineering Support.
Consulting in Action: Solving a Global OEM's Delivery Problem
One of our longtime customers -- a large worldwide manufacturer of mineral processing equipment -- needed large, "non-stock" planetary reducers in a wide range of ratios and configurations. The problem: their sales cycle moved faster than the reducers could be manufactured and shipped from the factory in Italy, and losing bids to faster-quoting competitors was costing them business.
We solved it by building a forecasting system. Every six weeks, we met with the OEM's marketing, product management, engineering, and purchasing teams to review every project in their pipeline:
- Projects out for bid, or already bid
- Projects coming through marketing
- Projects in engineering
- Projects marketing and product managers were still developing
We rated each one on a scale of 1 to 5 -- 1 meaning a confirmed order, 5 meaning a job unlikely to convert -- and used that forecast to have the factory begin manufacturing the largest, longest-lead-time planetary stages ahead of actual orders.
The result: our OEM partner could quote delivery times their competitors couldn't match, win more of the projects they bid on, and grow their planetary reducer business with us significantly -- a genuine win for both sides.
